On Sunday 22, 2017 members of the Trinidad and Tobago Association of Ottawa (TTAO) hosted Mrs. Ramhit-Ramroop, First Secretary and Head of Chancery at the Trinidad and Tobago High Commission to an Appreciation and Farewell Brunch at the Rideau Carleton Entertainment Centre.
In May 2010, Mrs. Ramhit-Ramroop was appointed as Consul at the Consulate General for the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, Toronto, and served in this position as the Head of Chancery until August 2014. In September 2014, Mrs. Ramhit-Ramroop was transferred to the High Commission for the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago in the position of First Secretary and served as High Commissioner (Ag.) until June, 2016 when High Commissioner Chatoor arrived in Canada.
Mrs. Ramhit-Ramroop continued to serve as First Secretary and Head of Chancery until her departure for Headquarters on January 27, 2017. Vanessa has been very supportive of the various events and initiatives hosted by the TTAO. At the Brunch TTAO's Mrs. Ramhit-Ramroop was praised for her tireless effort and valuable contribution to the TTAO. President Adrian Benjamin presented her with a certificate of appreciation and Immediate-Past-President, Ingrid John-Baptiste presented Vanessa with appreciation gifts on behalf of the TTAO and welcomed the idea of her returning in the future as the next High Commissioner to Ottawa.
Vanessa Ramhit-Ramroop was elated at the outpouring of gratitude from the TTAO and expressed her sincere appreciation. All present were invited by the TTAO's President to raise their glasses in honour of Mrs. Ramhit-Ramroop.
